How to Cancel a Subscription with Muse
Paying for something you don't use? The hardest part of cancelling is often just finding the right page. Muse can look up the company's official cancel steps for you, so you only have to do the last click yourself.
Before you start (2 minutes)
- Write down the subscription name, the email on the account, and your last charge amount.
- Check who bills you. Look at the charge on your card statement. If it says Apple, Google Play, PayPal, Amazon, or your phone company instead of the service's name, you'll probably need to cancel through that company instead.
Step 1: Ask Muse for the official cancel steps
Copy, paste, and fill in the brackets:
Find the official way to cancel my [SUBSCRIPTION NAME] subscription, using the company's own help pages.
Tell me exactly where to go, what to click, and what happens after I cancel
(when I lose access, whether I'll be charged again, and what happens to my account).
Don't sign in to anything or cancel anything. Just tell me the steps and the page you got them from.
Step 2: Cancel it yourself
Follow the steps Muse gives you, on the company's own site or app. Finish the cancellation all the way through. If you're offered a discount or a pause to stay, it's your call; you don't have to take it.
What we saw when we tested it (Nov 3, 2026)
We asked Muse how to cancel Netflix. We did not sign in to or cancel a real account.
- Muse opened a live browser and read Netflix's US Help Center. It took about 2.5 minutes, and it named its source: "How to cancel Netflix" on help.netflix.com.
- Here's what Muse reported from Netflix's help page:
- In a web browser, go to netflix.com/cancelplan (the Manage your membership page), select Cancel, then select Finish Cancellation.
- Signing out or deleting the app does not cancel your account.
- You keep access until the end of your current billing period. Your Payment History shows the exact date it closes.
- You won't be charged again unless you restart, and Netflix sends a confirmation email.
- If you don't see a cancel option, Netflix says to cancel with your payment partner instead; your Account page should point you to them.
- Muse also told us what the help page didn't cover (downloads after cancelling) instead of guessing. We liked that.
Policies change. Double-check the company's own help page before you rely on any of this.
What Muse won't do
- It didn't cancel anything or sign in. In our test Muse only read public help pages. You do the cancelling and any signing in yourself.
- It shows you messages first. When we asked for a cancellation email (Nov 2 test), Muse wrote a draft and showed it to us in the chat. It didn't send anything, and it said it would ask before sending.
- Some subscriptions are billed by someone else. Muse told us subscriptions billed through Apple, Google Play, PayPal, Amazon, or a phone carrier, or on a shared or family account, may not show up cleanly. Those usually have to be cancelled with that company.
- Some sites block it. Amazon blocked Muse from its product pages in our tests, so don't expect Muse to read Amazon's pages for you.
- We didn't test its subscription finder. Muse says it can look through your connected email and any bank or card accounts you've connected to list your subscriptions. That's Muse's own claim. We haven't tested it, so we can't tell you how well it works.
After it's done
- Save the confirmation email.
- Check your next statement to make sure the charge stopped.
Your first-year savings (do the math)
Monthly price of what you cancelled: $____ x 12 = $____ saved in the first year.
Example numbers only: cancelling a $15.99/month streaming plan saves $15.99 x 12 = $191.88 in a year. Cancel two of those and it's $383.76.
Annual plans: if it renews once a year, the whole renewal price is your first-year savings, as long as you cancel before the renewal date.
